Membership

Membership in The Rochester Area Vegetarian Society is open to all vegetarians, as well as to those who, while not yet vegetarian, are working towards a vegetarian life-style, and wish to support the group. RAVS Constitution defines Vegetarianism as the practice of living without the use of flesh, fish or fowl, and the ideal of complete independence from all animal products.

Members are entitled to: half-price membership in the North American Vegetarian Society, half-price subscriptions to the Vegetarian Journal, discounts on the purchase of books and other material available from RAVS, and are eligible to be listed in the Greenpeople guide to ethically owned businesses. Members also receive the Vegetarian Advocate, published four times a year.
