This lecture is the program for our regular May meeting. The dinner portion of this meeting is a vegan potluck at 5:30 PM. You are very welcome for the dinner or the lecture or both. Tips and advice about bringing a vegan dish can be found on p. 2 of our newsletter.
Gene Baur is Co-Founder of Farm Sanctuary, with locations in Watkins Glen, NY and in Orland, California. Farm Sanctuary has rescued thousands of animals, and has started thousands of people on the pathway of vegan eating, thereby saving even more animals. Farm Sanctuary also spearheads legislative efforts to improve the treatment of farmed animals.
Gene Baur has written a book of the same title as his lecture, and copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing.
We have learned so much about the health reasons for and advantages of a plant-based diet. This is an opportunity to broaden your motivation to follow a plant-based diet by learning the ways in which it helps animals and the environment. Though the facts of animal agriculture are hard to hear about, we promise that you will be inspired and your heart will be warmed by this lecture.
